about the practice · highland beach, fl
Nestor Advisory was built to answer that question slowly, in person, and by hand. One principal. One engagement at a time. No frameworks sold by the pound.
why the practice exists
Nestor Advisory began with a plain observation from years spent inside boardrooms: companies promote their best doers, hand them a title in an afternoon, and then leave them to work out the trade of leading entirely alone. The result costs a quarter — sometimes a career.
So the practice was built the slow way. No app, no catalogue of modules, no ladder of junior associates you never meet. Just a workbench, a standard, and the belief that leadership is a craft learned by hand — through honest conversation, patient repetition, and feedback read back plainly rather than scored and filed.
We stay small on purpose. A handful of directors and VPs at a time, each held by one principal from the first fit call to the last. When the work is sound, the engagement ends. We do not sell the kind of retainer that never finishes.
A title is handed over in an afternoon. The craft of leading is taken up over years — one honest conversation at a time.
what we hold to
The principal who answers your first call is the one in every session and the one who reads back your 360°. Your story is never passed down a bench of associates. The person you trust with the hard material is the person doing the work.
We work the real material — the decision you keep postponing, the room you lose, the report you cannot reach — not a tidy syllabus. Specifics beat slogans. We'd rather name three things worth changing than hand you thirty that never move.
Nothing leaves the room without your word. When a sponsor funds the engagement, the boundaries of what is shared are agreed in writing before the first session. Trust is the stock everything else is cut from.
An engagement closes when the work holds without us — not when a retainer renews. If we are not the right bench for you, we'll say so in the first conversation and point you somewhere better. Craft only works on the right piece.
the person in the chair
Nestor Advisory is a one-chair practice by design. The work of leadership is personal, so the person doing it should be too.
Before the practice, the principal spent years inside operating teams — close enough to the top to watch gifted directors stumble in their first quarter, and close enough to the floor to know why. That vantage is the whole method: coaching built from how leadership actually goes wrong in the first eighteen months, not from a textbook about how it should.
